Comedian Sarah Silverman accused Caitlyn Jenner of transphobia for speaking against trans girl participating in girls’ athletics.
Jenner, a former Olympic gold medalist who came out as transgender, voiced support for Republican-backed legislation prohibiting trans girls from competing in female athletics.
“This is a question of fairness, that’s why I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls sports in school. lt just isn’t fair, and we have to protect girls sports in our schools.”

This prompted this response from Silverman on her podcast.
Needless to say, the internet had plenty of reactions.
Our Take…
For some, like SIlverman, “wokeness” has no limits. Unless you fit neatly into the pigeonholes that the woke, identitarian left has fashioned, you are a target. In this case, Jenner, a trans woman, must be transphobic because she does not agree with SIlverman on this issue.
Yet, SIlverman fills a familiar role herself: the hypocrite. Instead of giving a trans woman her space to voice her opinion, Silverman demands that Jenner get in line, or be labeled a bigot against her own.
But in reality, all this does is show Silverman’s own bigotry. What is there to fear from Jenner’s differing opinion. It is certainly reasonable to think that allowing trans women to compete with women is fundamentally unfair. But, that is not to say that some women can be more athletic than men. Of course they can be!
But imagine what would happen to women’s athletics if we allowed co-ed competition at all levels. Women’s athletics would disappear, as the most athletic of all of us will be, predominantly, men.
Remember when saying something like what Jenner thinks wasn’t controversial? Welcome to the age of wokeness! Where nothing makes sense and only the imaginary points matter.
