This week in our search for the Buffoon of the Week right here on Buffoonology 101, the classroom spotlight shines on two political figures from opposite sides of the aisle — yet united by their spectacular inability to communicate clearly and effectively.
If this is your first time experiencing Buffoonology 101, you can learn more about it on our dedicated page chronicling our work here.
In a world where messaging can make or break careers, both of this week’s nominees prove that saying the wrong thing (or saying nothing at all) can cement you as a certified buffoon.
But, before we break down this week’s matchup, here’s who won the last time we got together to choose the Buffoon of the Week
AOC Snatched Victory from Andrew Cuomo

A few weeks ago, we pitched a battle between two huge Democratic buffoons. When the dust settled, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez delivered another election loss to disgraced ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo right after he blew a 30-point lead in the NYC Democratic Mayoral primary.
But, as you’ll see below, Cuomo is back again – not only running for Mayor, but to become Buffoon of the Week!
Ross’s Nominee: Pam Bondi and Her Mixed Signals on Epstein
Ross Galloway nominated former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi for what he called one of the most buffoonish performances of the year. Back in February, Bondi publicly claimed that the infamous Jeffrey Epstein client files were “on her desk” and in the process of being reviewed at President Trump’s direction. Weeks later, she distributed binders to a few conservative influencers labeled “Epstein Files – Phase One,” fueling speculation and conspiracy theories about what explosive revelations might be inside.
But here’s the kicker: months have passed, and nothing substantial has come of Bondi’s claims. No high-profile arrests. No public release of names. And, of course, absolutely zero accountability. As Ross put it, this saga has become the “moon landing hoax” of modern MAGA conspiracies — all hype and no substance.
In the end, her evasive answers, vague promises, and failure to follow through only fed public frustration and lent credibility to wild theories. In the Buffoonology 101 classroom, that’s enough to earn Bondi a failing grade on our Sharpton Buffoonery Matrix™ which is our visual representation relating a nominee’s Buffoonish Nature (BuN) to his/her Buffoonish Action Magnitude (BAM.)
- BuN: 62 (Can she pick up the ball she dropped?)
- BAM: 28.89 GigaSharptons™ (Where’s that missing minute of jail video, Pam?!?)
Gene’s Nominee: Andrew Cuomo and His Low-Energy “Comeback”
On the other side, Gene Berardelli doubled down on a familiar target: disgraced ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo. After losing the Democratic mayoral primary in spectacular fashion, Cuomo somehow decided the best course of action was… to run again in the general election as an independent candidate.
Gene highlighted Cuomo’s low-energy comeback video, which featured stiff, scripted remarks about getting “back in the game,” awkward staged meet-and-greets on the streets of New York, and even a hilariously fake moment where Cuomo jump-started someone’s car — in a manner that could have caused a fire when he attached the cables incorrectly.
For Gene, Cuomo’s complete lack of self-awareness, lack of charisma, and failure to grasp how bad he looks to voters made him an easy choice for Buffoon of the Week. After all, as Gene noted, if you can’t read the room, maybe it’s time to leave the stage.
- BuN: 84 (up a notch from last time, setting a new record!)
- BAM: 113.0 GigaSharptons™ (Topping his own record – again!)
Who’s the Bigger Buffoon? You Decide!
So, there they are! Both Pam Bondi and Andrew Cuomo exemplify why communication is everything in politics — and why failing at it can make you look like a total buffoon.
Now it’s your turn to weigh in: who deserves the dubious honor of Buffoon of the Week?
