New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand stretched the meaning of “infrastructure” to stupid proportions, and the Internet roundly mocked her.
To show her support for President Biden’s $2.3 trillion tax-and-spend plan, Gillibrand attempt to expand the meaning of the word “infrastructure” beyond its normal usage.
The reactions online were hilarious.
Apparently, words can now mean whatever we want them to mean at any given time!
Even supporters called out Gillibrand’s silly word-play.
Our Take…
Words matter, people. This is what happens when we create subjectivity in our lives. Words said by one mean one thing, while the same exact words means something else.
Here, Gillibrand is showing off her new floor exercise in the 2021 Agenda Gymnastics meet that is The Swamp. Writer Kimberly Ross put it best:
Gillibrand’s political contortions are rightfully mocked for stretching the definition of words beyond credulity. As Gillibrand’s credibility has long been zero, I guess it’s apropos that she spews nonsense like this.
