Who Was the Biggest HYPOCRITE of the Year?

Hypocrisy Defined The Left in 2024

Hypocrites always spark controversy. The Hypocrite's cognitive dissonance is completely ingrained in their personal and political identity.

Political hypocrisy is a topic that never fails to spark controversy. We’re going to delve into one of the most anticipated categories of Buffoon discussed in political discourse: The Hypocrite.

This year, the competition for the award is more heated than ever. Buffoons in politics on both sides of the aisle committed some of the most flagrant examples of double standards.

If you haven’t seen the video yet, then check it out below and you’ll see why the Hypocrite reached new heights in 2024.

What Do We Mean When We Say “Hypocrite?”

The great Benjamin Franklin once said:

[A] publick Hypocrite every day deceives his betters, and makes them the Ignorant Trumpeters of his supposed Godliness: They take him for a Saint, and pass him for one, without considering that they are (as it were) the Instruments of publick Mischief out of Conscience, and ruin their Country for God’s sake.

Gene Berardelli puts it simply in his book, Schnooks, Crooks, Liars & Scoundrels: the Hypocrite is just too far gone. The Hypicrite’s cognitive dissonance is completely ingrained in their personal and political identity. The Hypocrite has crossed the dividing line from the rather benign variants of Buffoon we discussed earlier (like the B.S. Buffoon, the Agenda Gymnast, The Hot Mess, and the Narcissist) into hypocrisy so many times that they developed a callous and unrepentant disposition.  compares political hypocrisy to a “gateway drug,” where smaller infractions of inconsistency lead to more extreme and overt examples.

Both Republicans and Democrats can act as Hypocrites for their double standards. From prominent figures in the Democratic Party to the so-called “Republicans in name only” (RINOs), no one is exempt from the criticism of hypocrisy.

“Morning Joe” And The Most Hypocritical Statement Of 2024

According to NewsBusters, “Morning Joe” Scarborough made the worst media quote of the year in March of 2024:

Start your tape right now, because I’m about to tell you the truth. And f-you if you can’t handle the truth. This version of Biden intellectually, analytically, is the best Biden ever. Not a close second. And I’ve known him for years. The Brzezinskis have known his for 50 years. If it weren’t the truth, I wouldn’t say it.

After heaping such high praise for Joe Biden’s mental fitness despite obvious signs of cognitive decline that we noted all year long, “Morning Joe” quickly shifted after the election by cozying up with President-elect Donald Trump after years of labeling Trump as a “fascist.” “Morning Joe’s” pivot highlights his absurdity – and the strength of his candidacy for the dubious honor of Hypocrite of the Year.

The Left’s Hypocrisy Towards Using Violent Rhetoric

Democratic leaders, starting at the top with President Joe Biden, called Trump and his supporters “fascists” and claiming that he’s a “threat to democracy” defined the partisan left. Yet, even after the attempted assassinations of President-elect Trump, those same leftist politicians failed to take responsibility for the role their words played in inciting violence.

Collectively, we call those “leaders” the Hypocrite. When Democrats blamed Trump’s words for leading to violence during his presidency, they dramatically feigned outrage. Yet, those same Democrats refuse to live up to the same standard they themselves held Trump to when decrying inflammatory language. Clearly, all sides should be held accountable to the same standard for the rhetoric they use, this was the year the Left proved to be most hypocritical.

Elise Stefanik Exposes the Hypocrisy of the Ivy League

Another key moment in the video is when the host discusses the hypocrisy displayed by Ivy League university presidents, particularly concerning their handling of pro-Hamas protests. These leaders, who publicly advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, were criticized for their lenient responses to calls for genocide. The video showcases how their actions undermined the very values they claim to uphold.

The Ivy League Breeds Hypocrisy

This year saw Ivy League institutions lean on DEI policies to promote a one-sided agenda that excluded certain groups, such as Jews or conservative students, to their detriment. Amazingly, these Ivy League administrators claimed they were merely promoting open-mindedness and tolerance, and not selective inclusion.

Liberal professors and administrators who preached tolerance and inclusion failed to address the violence and extremism within their own ranks – a point emphasized by Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik in dramatic fashion. Then, after the election, professors hypocritically offered “listening circles” and canceled classes to help students cope with Donald Trump’s victory, an absurd display of left-wing hypocrisy.

The Republican Party’s Post-Election Hypocrisy

Finally, we must take aim at certain members of the Republican Party, calling out their hypocrisy for claiming to be true conservatives while undermining policies that could benefit the country. The discussion touches on the failure of some Republican congressmen to support resolutions that would prevent government shutdowns, criticizing them for voting against measures that would have kept essential services running.

So Who‘s The Biggest Hypocrite?

The struggle against political hypocrisy is an ongoing battle between political figures who preach one thing and do another. Whether it’s media personalities, politicians, or academia, hypocrisy is alive and well in 2024. This year’s nominees represent a cross-section of the political spectrum, with no side left untouched by the sting of double standards.
