For this week’s edition of Buffoonology 101, we’re pumping the brakes on our political clown car—not because we’re short on buffoons (they multiply faster than a mathematician on coke!), but because accuracy matters—even in the pseudoscience we lovingly call Buffoonology 101.
So instead of diving into a fresh cage match, we’re revisiting past offenders we’ve plotted on our Sharpton Buffoonery Matrix™. If you’ve been following along, you know we grade America’s most ridiculous political players by their BuN (Buffoonish Nature) and BAM (Buffoonish Action Magnitude).

🏆 Ross’s (Holiday) Victory*
But first, a quick recap from last week’s clash: Ross Galloway’s nominee, James Comey, edged out a Memorial Day weekend win with a 60-40 vote margin over Gene Berardelli’s pick, Rep. LaMonica McIver. Turnout was lighter than usual due to the holiday, so let’s call it a technical win.
That narrows the race even more, with Gene clinging to a 4-3 lead.
🍑 Reviewing Some BuNs
Following a suggestion from Ross, the show kicked off with a reexamination of past nominees’ BuNs. Apparently, the guy just really likes checking out BuNs.
🔺 Jake Tapper: 72 → 77 (+5 BuN)
Jake Tapper’s media malpractice saga has legs. Since being named a top-tier buffoon, he’s reportedly hired a crisis PR team to smooth out the release of his tell-all book exposing President Biden’s mental decline. The kicker? He’s now expressing “humility” for not covering it in real time. Tapper’s clearly playing the long game of buffoonery. With a new BuN score of 77, he enters elite territory—possibly making him a front-runner for Buffoon of the Year.
🔺 Nancy Mace: 72 → 74 (+2 BuN)
Rep. Nancy Mace earned a BuN bump after an eye-popping (and possibly NSFW) moment during a House Subcommittee hearing on cybersecurity, where she presented a blurry nude image. The topic was serious, but her delivery veered into the absurd. BuN score: 74.
↔️ Sen. Michael Bennet: Holding at 72
We noticed something funny—72 seems to be a popular rating. Bennet originally earned his score for campaign finance hypocrisy, but when compared to Tapper and Mace, he now seems… underwhelming. For now, he holds steady at 72—but if he fades from the headlines, a demotion might be in the works.
💥 Now for the BAMs
We also reexamined some Buffoonish Action Magnitudes (BAMs). Some actions aged like fine wine. Others? Not so much.
🔄 A BAM Switcheroo
As discussed, Jake Tapper’s ongoing saga earned him a major BAM upgrade. Meanwhile, James Comey’s Instagram seashell post, while dumb, lacked staying power.
So, Gene and Ross made a swap:
- Tapper: 11.00 GigaSharptons™ → 37.12 GigaSharptons™
- Comey: 37.12 GigaSharptons™ → 11.00 GigaSharptons™
Elegant. Justified. Buffoonologically sound.
🔻 Thanedar’s Impeachment Doesn’t Stand Up
Rep. Shri Thanedar’s attempt to impeach President Trump fizzled within his own party and disappeared from the news cycle. Once expected to be a splashy move, it turned into a belly-flop. His BAM drops from 67.25 Giga-Sharptons™ to 41, now below Rep. LaMonica McIver.
🧠 Why Buffoonology 101 Grades Matters: Satire with Integrity
Look—we know this is satire. But we’re not winging it. If you’re going to mock the madness, do it right. That’s why we’re building this Buffoonology 101 system with transparency, logic, and a healthy dose of sarcasm. Our BuNs and BAMs may be arbitrary, but they mean something within our framework.
“We mock the madness—but we measure it, too.
